Privacy Policy
This policy explains how we handle the personal data of website visitors and guests booking Casa Miralago (licensed holiday rental no. 178167/AL).

What data we process and why
- Enquiries and bookings: the website has no forms that store data. When you contact us by WhatsApp or phone, we process your name, contact details and the stay details you give us, to reply and manage your booking (pre-contractual steps and performance of the contract).
- Guest registration: Portuguese law requires us to report the stay of foreign nationals to the authorities, with the identification data required (legal obligation).
- Invoicing and payments: name, tax number (if you ask for an invoice with one) and payment details, to issue the invoice and meet our tax obligations (legal obligation).
- Statistics and advertising: only with your consent, we use Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel to measure visits and enquiries (see the Cookie Policy).
- Running the website: our hosting provider logs technical data (such as the IP address) for security and abuse prevention (legitimate interest).
Who receives the data
- WhatsApp (Meta), when you choose to contact us that way.
- Booking platforms (Airbnb, Booking.com), if you book through them: their own policies also apply.
- Public authorities, where required by law (foreign guest registration, tax authority).
- Cloudflare, which hosts the website.
- Google and Meta, only for the cookie categories you accept. These providers may process data outside the European Economic Area under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep conversations and booking data for as long as needed for your stay and any complaints; tax documents and legally required records for the applicable legal periods. Statistics follow the periods listed in the Cookie Policy.
Your rights
You can ask for access, rectification, erasure, restriction or portability of your data, object to processing and withdraw your consent at any time (without affecting processing carried out before). Just email us at geral@casamiralago.pt.
If you believe your data has not been handled properly, you can complain to the Portuguese Data Protection Authority (CNPD).
